Shopping ranges from small locally-owned businesses with Kauai-made products to malls and upscale resort shops.
In Lihue, Kukui Grove Center offers shops and restaurants including Starbucks, Macy’s, and more. A Farmer’s Market offers fresh local produce and products located between the mall and Costco, Mon. 3pm. Wal-Mart & Hilo Hattie are near Wilcox Hospital. Nawiliwili has two malls, Anchor Cove Center and Harbor Mall. Both are filled with specialty shops and restaurants.
Heading North past Lihue is Kinipopo Center with great eats, custom jewelry and shops. The Coconut Marketplace features restaurants and shops and has a free hula show on Wed., Fri. at 5pm and Sat. 1pm. Farmers Market Tues./Thurs. 9-1pm. Past here, Kauai Village Shopping Center has Safeway, eateries and Starbucks. Old Kapaa Town has boutiques, art, jewelry shops and eateries. The North Shore, on the way to the Kilauea Lighthouse, is Kong Lung Center with galleries, shops, restaurant and bakery. The Kilauea Plantation Center is across the street. The Princeville Shopping Center offers Foodland groceries, shops and restaurants.
In Hanalei, meander through shops at Ching Young Village and Hanalei Center, in a renovated grammar school. Across the street, is Kauhale Center offers unique shops.
Heading South past Lihue, check out the Kilohana Plantation with its shops, restaurant, rum tasting, a Train Ride and Luau. On the south side, Old Koloa Town’s plantation-era charm has unique shops, restaurants and an open-air history museum. Shops at Kukui‘ula, in Poipu is relaxed island style center, with the newest shops and restaurants. Poipu Shopping Village has shops, fine restaurants and live local entertainment. On the Westside, Hanapepe has shops and galleries, with a famous swinging bridge. Port Allen Marina Center in Elelele, has shopping & food and is home to tour boat charters.
